Work Experience in Music

After finishing college with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, I moved to California where I was employed at Camp Parks with the Department of Justice/Bureau of Prisons. I worked with inmates to develop their music and social skills. We used an early version of Music Therapy which involved playing the guitar along with other instruments.

After winning awards with the American Song Writing Association I set forth to pedal myself as a singer, songwriter, guitarist. My first band “Release”, was a two piece duo. We played mostly small venues like the Holy City Zoo (San Francisco), The Cellar Door (Washington, D.C.) and Mr. Henry’s also of D.C. We played a lot of folk rock which featured acoustic and electric guitar. Later I worked with several cover bands in the Bay area. We played at several venues including the San Ramon Country Club, Crow Canyon Country Club and the Round Hill Country Club.

I have played several different instruments but the acoustic guitar is my favorite. I taught at Valley Music in Livermore, CA from 1978 through 1989. Now Being Retired from Aviation I am fortunate to be able to return to my roots which means teaching finger picking and acoustic guitar.

Lessons are priced at $30.00 per half hour. We will meet once a week. Payment is due monthly.
